Catering

Thynne C is a self catered area. Normal meals in the dining hall are not included in Thynne C resident’s fees. Thynne C residents are encouraged to attend special theme dinners, semi-formal dinners, Hall barbecues and special events, such as Dinner Under The Stars and Valedictory. These events are included as part of their fees.

Thynne C is equipped with:
  • a modern kitchen with microwave, refrigerator, freezer, stove top, kettle, toaster, 6 lockable cupboards and dining room table and chairs
  • a common area with coffee table, lounge chairs and curtains

You will need to provide:

  • crockery & cutlery
  • saucepans
  • glassware
  • washing liquid, tea-towel & sponge
Cleaning of the kitchen/common area

The complete cleaning and tidiness of kitchens (including kitchen benches, equipment, sink, floors and table & chairs) and care of the surrounds will be the responsibility of the residents. Cleanliness will be monitored weekly by your Senior Resident. Failure to meet these requirements may jeopardize your place in Thynne C.

Furniture

To protect the furniture and for the comfort of other residents, please do not remove furniture from the kitchen or lounge common room. Indoor furniture is not to be used for outdoor use. Please report any damages, losses or faults to the Halls’ Office immediately.

Security

Entry to the building is by your room key only. We request that you keep the external doors locked at all times.

Noise

In order to avoid disturbing other residents, the kitchen/common areas should not be used for noisy gatherings. During the examination periods noise curfew times will apply.
