How do I apply?

You must complete your application using the Halls of Residence Online Accommodation Portal to be considered for accommodation at the Halls of Residence, The University of Queensland, Gatton Campus.

Please note: Submitting an application does not guarantee you will be offered a room. Demand for accommodation often outweighs the rooms we have available. To give yourself the best chance of being successful, please ensure you complete your online Application including Selection Criteria thoroughly.

The payment of an online Non-Refundable Application Fee (AUD $55.00) is required to complete the application process.

When should I apply? 

Applications for 2019 received on or before Monday 3 December 2018 will be given preference over later applications. Late applications will be considered but will be determined by room availability.

Do not wait until you have received an offer to study from The University of Queensland.

How do I know if my application is successful?

Offers for accommodation will be emailed (to the email address you provided on your application) on Wednesday 19 December 2018. An offer pack will be emailed  to you with your acceptance document, pre-arrival payment information and payment schedule for 2019. Further details in relation to check in dates and what to bring will be also be emailed to successful applicants early February 2019.
International Students will also be sent their offer via email.
If you are unsuccessful in obtaining a first round offer you will also be notified by email on Wednesday 19 December 2018.
Please Note: For a variety of reasons, history has shown us that not all students who receive a first round offer of accommodation will accept. Late offers will be made to applicants on a waiting list as rooms become available - most being made mid to late January/early February after QTAC results are available.

Status of applications will not be discussed over the phone.

How do I accept my offer?

Step 1: To accept your offer of accommodation you must read the rules and regulations information, print, sign and return the 'Acceptance of offer' form by no later than Wednesday 2 January 2019.

Please note: If we have not received signed copy of the 'Acceptance of offer' form by Wednesday 2 January 2019, your offer will become void and your place reallocated to another student.
Step 2: You must forward your non-refundable administration fee by no later than Friday 18 January 2019. Payment options will be outlined in your offer letter.
