How do I apply?

You must complete your application using the Halls of Residence Online Accommodation Portal to be considered for accommodation at the Halls of Residence, The University of Queensland, Gatton Campus.

Please note: Submitting an application does not guarantee you will be offered a room. Demand for accommodation often outweighs the rooms we have available. To give yourself the best chance of being successful, please ensure you complete your online Application including Selection Criteria thoroughly.

The payment of an online Non-Refundable Application Fee (AUD $75.00) is required to complete the application process.

When should I apply?

Do not wait until you have received an offer to study from The University of Queensland.

How do I know if my application is successful?

First round offers for accommodation will be emailed (to the email address you provided on your application). An offer of accommodation will be emailed  to you with your acceptance procedure, pre-arrival payment information and payment schedule for 2022. Further details in relation to check in dates and what to bring will be also be emailed to successful applicants early February 2022.
 
International Students will also be sent their offer via email.
 
If you are unsuccessful in obtaining a first round offer, you will also be notified by email. Further offers for accommodation will be made until all rooms are allocated and accepted.
 
Please Note: For a variety of reasons, history has shown us that not all students who receive a first round offer of accommodation will accept. Late offers will be made to applicants on a waiting list as rooms become available - most being made mid to late January after UQ major offer round is completed.

Status of applications will not be discussed over the phone.

How do I accept my offer?

Step 1: To accept your offer of accommodation you must follow the acceptance instructions (included in the offer email) by the due date on the offer email.

Step 2: You must pay your non-refundable administration fee by no later than the due date on the offer email. Payment options will be outlined in your offer email.
 
Please note: If we have not received your acceptance and admin fee by the due date your offer will become void and your place reallocated to another student.
